Tong Reng Beach offers one of our favorite family-friendly walks on Koh Phangan. This easy route avoids passing through the national park gate and leads to a fascinating abandoned resort and beautiful rocky beach. The trail crosses a gentle stream and takes you through peaceful natural settings.
What makes this walk special is the welcoming committee of friendly stray dogs who call this area home. They're gentle and sociable - even our little dog Boomer feels comfortable and has made friends here! The combination of natural beauty, interesting ruins, and canine companions makes this a unique and memorable experience.
Route: The trail starts from the main road, passes a restaurant, then heads down a gravel road that crosses a stream before reaching the abandoned resort and rocky beach at Ao Thong Reng.
